what has been your experience with remote computer support?

I think I need to reinstall Word XP in safe mode - Word keeps on inexplicably shutting down. I don't know how to do this on my own and am going to try remote support - any services better that others?

Is a computer repair business a good idea?

I have the proper education and funds to start my own computer repair/setup/consulting/etc... business. I realize that it will be extremely hard to compete with large established businesses (Best Buy), but I've done the math and I figured out that I can provide the same services as the big companies (Best Buy), for 1/3 the price of what they charge (on several services but obviously not all) and still make a good profit. Plus I can provide in home services, and I wont make you wait 2 weeks like some companies (Best Buy) do. Obviously I wont make my decision based solely on the answers I receive here, but I thought that I would see what some other people thought before I spend my life savings on something that might be doomed to fail. If I do decide that it is a good idea, of course I will talk to some business experts and lawyers and such before I spend any money. I'm asking you now to help me decide whether or not to spend time any money consulting professionals.
